When I began trading, I made so many mistakes. I focused too much on my P/L, I traded with emotion, and jumped aimlessly from strategy to strategy. I tried to copy others' styles and trades, and I lacked any semblance of a plan.
I had some big wins, but even bigger losses. When in losing trades, I was so crippled by anxiety that I often struggled to exit. I was in over my head, and was left frustrated and demoralized by months of blown accounts. I came very close to quitting. If this sounds familiar, then you're in the right place.
The problem was that I wasn't investing in myself. I was merely glomming onto others and looking for a turnkey solution, but the market quickly humbled me. I came to the realization that I needed to go back to square one if I was ever to succeed.
I took a big step back and began to uncover the critical flaws in my approach. I needed to create a strong foundation for long-term success. I had to let go of my desire for instant gratification and commit to the long game.
I decided to switch to paper trading, and devoted an entire year to learning everything I could about trading like a professional. I read trading books, joined trading groups, and enrolled in multiple courses. It was a long road, but I slowly began to find my footing.
Instead of trying to mimic other traders, I had to drown out the noise and create a system that worked for me. I had to learn to trust in myself and pave my own path; This realization, along with looking inward and deconstructing my flaws, is what finally led to consistency in my trading.
Despite this, I was left frustrated by the learning process I underwent. I had taken multiple courses and was forced to sift through so much irrelevant information just to uncover the golden nuggets and critical insights that led to growth.
I was taken aback by just how many marketers were trying to sell me a "one-size-fits-all" strategy—or a monthly subscription to their trading alerts. I realized that so many out there did not have my best interests at heart. They wanted me to depend on them, not myself—and I learned just how difficult it is to find reliable and trustworthy information.
Therefore, I felt a strong desire to help others navigate similar roadblocks and pitfalls during their own trading journeys, because I know the mental anguish of wanting so badly to succeed at something, yet feeling like nothing is working. I know what it's like to want to give up. So I wanted to help.
I began sharing my journey and trade recaps on my socials, not thinking much would come of it—and was blown away by just how many struggling traders reached out for advice. I felt like I was making a difference—even if it was a small one.
This eventually inspired me to create The Lucid Trader Blueprint—a budget-friendly, step-by-step resource that aims to set struggling traders on a trajectory for long-term success.
To be Lucid is to "think clearly, access the full use of one's mental abilities, and have clear perception and understanding."
